Xreal 1 Pro+: Brighter Display, Enhanced AR Experience

Xreal is stepping up its augmented reality game with the introduction of the Xreal 1 Pro+, a new iteration of its AR glasses that boasts significant display enhancements without a price hike. Priced at the same $599 as its predecessor, the Xreal 1 Pro+ focuses on delivering a more immersive visual experience.

The headline upgrade is a dramatic increase in peak brightness, soaring to 1200 nits from the previous 700 nits. This boost promises a more vibrant and visible AR overlay, even in challenging lighting conditions. Additionally, the Xreal 1 Pro+ introduces support for 60fps 2D to 3D conversion, doubling the capabilities of the Xreal 1 Pro's 30fps. This advancement is set to make spatial content feel more dynamic and lifelike.

Under the hood, the AR glasses retain the same impressive 0.55-inch Sony Micro-OLED panels, delivering a crisp 1920x1200 resolution per eye and a fluid 120Hz refresh rate. A new addition is the AI HDR feature, which Xreal claims will elevate overall visual fidelity, producing richer colors and deeper contrast. The field of view remains a comfortable 57 degrees, offering a virtual screen size range from 34 to 556 inches, and native 3DoF (three degrees of freedom) tracking continues to provide a natural spatial viewing experience.

Powering this advanced AR experience is Xreal's X1 spatial computing chip, engineered for low latency with a 3ms M2P response time. For enhanced comfort during extended use, the Xreal 1 Pro+ features an updated nose pad design with a larger contact area, promoting greater stability and a more comfortable fit. Connectivity remains straightforward, utilizing a USB-C connection that supports DisplayPort (DP) Alt Mode, ensuring compatibility with a wide range of devices.
