vivo X500 Ultra said to use a larger telephoto sensor over its predecessor

Back in July, well-known tipster Digital Chat Station claimed that vivo was deciding betweenthree 200MP sensorsfor the telephoto camera on its upcoming camera flagship, the X500 Ultra. Now, the tipster suggests that the company may have made its choice. According to a recentpostby the tipster, the latest engineering sample of the vivo X500 Ultra is testing a 200MP 1/1.2-inch sensor for the telephoto camera.

vivo appears to have found a way to accommodate the larger sensor without taking up too much internal space. For comparison, thevivo X300 Ultrafeatures a 200MP telephoto camera with a 1/1.4-inch sensor. The larger sensor on its successor should be able to capture more light, potentially improving image quality, particularly in low-light conditions. The tipster also recentlyclaimedthat the vivo X500 Ultra will be powered by theSnapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 chipset, pack a battery with a capacity of around 8,000mAh, and feature a 6.85-inch LTPO AMOLED display supplied by BOE. The flagship isrumoredto launch between March and April next year.
