Vivo X500 Geekbench Leak: Unpacking Its Performance & Chipset Strategy

The highly anticipated Vivo X500 smartphone has made a significant appearance on the Geekbench online database, revealing crucial insights into its performance capabilities and internal hardware. Identified by the model number V2609A, this benchmark listing offers an early look at what consumers can expect from Vivo's upcoming standard-bearer.

Running on Geekbench 6.7.1 for Android, the device posted competitive scores: a single-core score of 2,694 and a multi-core score of 7,770. These figures provide a preliminary snapshot of the Vivo X500's raw processing power, essential for multitasking and demanding applications.

Underpinning these scores is a MediaTek chipset, speculated to be either the recently unveiled Dimensity 9600M or the preceding Dimensity 9500. Distinguishing between the two based solely on benchmark data can be challenging due to their similar performance profiles, but either would position the Vivo X500 firmly in the upper-midrange to flagship-killer segment.

This choice of silicon highlights a deliberate strategic divergence within the Vivo X500 series. While the premium Vivo X500 Pro and X500 Pro Max models are confirmed to house MediaTek's current flagship, the formidable Dimensity 9600 Pro SoC, the standard Vivo X500 opts for a slightly less powerful, and presumably more cost-effective, processor. This tiered approach allows Vivo to offer a range of devices catering to different performance needs and price points, making the vanilla X500 a more accessible option.

Enthusiasts won't have to wait long for official details, as the entire Vivo X500 lineup is slated for an official unveiling in China on September 21.
