Ultrahuman Introduces On-Demand Heart Scan for Ring Air and Ring Pro Users

Ultrahuman is enhancing its suite of health monitoring features with the launch of the new Heart Scan, a powerful tool designed for users of the Ultrahuman Ring Air and Ring Pro. Building upon the existing AFib (atrial fibrillation) detection capabilities, this innovative feature provides an on-demand solution for proactive heart rhythm analysis, powered by FibriCheck technology.

What is Ultrahuman Heart Scan?

While Ultrahuman rings already offer background AFib screening that runs nightly, the Heart Scan empowers users with the flexibility to conduct an immediate heart rhythm check whenever they choose. This distinguishes it from passive monitoring, offering an active way to assess heart health on demand. The feature is integrated into the AFib Detection PowerPlug ecosystem, accessible directly through the Ultrahuman app.

How the Heart Scan Works

Initiating a Heart Scan is straightforward:

  • Users simply start a scan from within the Ultrahuman app.
  • Each scan requires 60 seconds of stillness, allowing the Ultrahuman Ring to accurately read the heart's signals.
  • The collected data is then analyzed by FibriCheck’s sophisticated algorithms, converting raw signals into meaningful insights.

Understanding Your Results and Reports

Once the 60-second scan is complete, results are displayed directly within the Ultrahuman app. For a more in-depth analysis, the system generates a comprehensive FibriCheck PDF report. This detailed document includes:

  • A recording of the pulse captured during the scan.
  • A tachogram, illustrating changes in heart rate over time.
  • A Lorenz plot, which visually represents the variability between heartbeats.

Ultrahuman provides clear guidelines on potential scan outcomes, which may include:

  • Regular: Indicating a consistent heart rhythm.
  • Possibly irregular: Suggesting some variations in rhythm.
  • Possible atrial fibrillation: Flagging potential signs of AFib.
  • Signal quality too low: An indication that the reading may need to be retaken.
  • Inconclusive: When a definitive result cannot be determined.

It's important to note that FibriCheck is not designed to detect heart attacks or ischemic conditions. Furthermore, a "regular" result from a Heart Scan does not completely rule out the presence of an underlying heart rhythm condition.

Availability and Requirements

To access the Heart Scan feature, users need the Ultrahuman app version 4.3.0 for iOS devices or Android version 3.2.0.0. This advanced heart monitoring capability is available in supported markets across the UK, Europe, the Middle East, and the Asia-Pacific regions for both Ultrahuman Ring Air and Ring Pro users. Eligible Ring owners can conveniently access complimentary scans directly from their Ultrahuman dashboard.
