Tecno Pova 8 Unveiled: Massive 8,000mAh Battery Meets Innovative Alive Matrix Display

Tecno is pushing the boundaries of smartphone innovation with the new Tecno Pova 8, building upon the creative vision seen in the Pova 7. While the Pova 7 introduced the unique Delta Light Interface, the Pova 8 elevates this concept with its striking Alive Matrix Display, a novel dot-matrix panel integrated into the rear camera island.

The Tecno Pova 8 presents an intriguing mix of advancements and refinements compared to its predecessor. A standout feature is the colossal 8,000mAh battery, a significant leap from the Pova 7's 6,000mAh capacity. This powerhouse battery has been rigorously tested by TÜV SÜD, demonstrating an impressive 2-day lifespan on a single charge. Furthermore, Tecno highlights the battery's longevity, boasting over 2,000 charge cycles while maintaining at least 80% of its original capacity, translating to approximately 6 years of dependable usage.

When it's time to recharge, the Pova 8 supports 45W fast charging, capable of replenishing the battery from 1% to 50% in a swift 35 minutes. For added convenience, 10W reverse charging is also available. However, it's worth noting the removal of the 30W wireless charging feature found in the previous model.

Another notable shift comes with the chipset. The Tecno Pova 8 is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7100. While this processor was announced more recently than the Dimensity 7300 in the Pova 7, it utilizes an older TSMC 6nm semiconductor process, contrasting with the Pova 7's 4nm node. To manage heat effectively, the chipset is paired with a substantial 15,000mm² graphite sheet.

Under the hood, the Dimensity 7100 is coupled with 8GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 256GB of UFS 2.2 storage. Tecno has optimized the device for performance, ensuring stable 90fps gameplay in popular titles such as Honor of Kings and Mobile Legends: Bang Bang.

The distinctive rear camera module, which appears to house three distinct lenses, conceals a clever design. Only one of these is a functional camera, featuring a 50MP Sony Lytia 600 sensor (1/1.95") with 2x in-sensor zoom and autofocus capabilities. Positioned directly below this is the captivating Alive Matrix Display. The front-facing camera is a capable 13MP selfie module.

The visual experience is delivered through a vibrant 6.76-inch IPS LCD panel. This display boasts a fluid 144Hz refresh rate and a sharp 1080p+ resolution. Enhancing interactivity, it features a 240Hz touch sampling rate and the advanced Wet & Oily Finger Touch Recognition 2.0. The Tecno Pova 8 launches with the latest HiOS 16, based on Android 16.
