Tecno Camon Slim Concept: A Bezel-less Vision Unveiled

Remember that stunning bezel-less concept phone from Tecno that made waves at IFA? We've had the opportunity to get our hands on it again at the office for a more in-depth look. While we won't be rehashing every detail from our initial coverage (you can find that here), consider this your exclusive gallery and closer examination of this groundbreaking device.

This remarkable concept phone shares its foundation with the Tecno 5G Camon Slim, even identifying itself as such in the "About phone" section. It boasts the same core specifications, featuring a Dimensity 7300e chip and a substantial 6,000mAh battery.

However, the design deviates significantly. The concept Camon Slim is noticeably thicker than its production counterpart. This added girth is necessary to accommodate the dual-layer cover glass and the intricate wrap-around design elements integrated internally.

As expected from a bezel-less marvel, the concept phone is also slightly shorter, and its defining characteristic – the dramatically thinner bezels – is immediately apparent.

It's important to remember that as a concept, this Tecno device is not production-ready and is unlikely to ever be released commercially. While largely functional, we encountered initial setup challenges, and the device even performed an unexpected reset, requiring us to repeat the entire setup process. Furthermore, the SIM tray is purely cosmetic, with no functional SIM slot present.

Concept phones like this serve as vital engineering showcases for manufacturers, acting as true proofs of concept. They are not only fascinating to explore but also adept at capturing attention and sparking imagination. It's been a while since we've witnessed a truly bezel-less phone concept, and it inevitably brings to mind the pioneering designs of devices like the Xiaomi Mi Mix.
