TCL unveils 11" TCL Tab A1 NxtPaper tablet and a kids watch with a robotic cradle

TCL has brought two NxtPaper tablets and a kids smartwatch to IFA. Unlikethe new TCL P80 phones, which introduced the first AMOLED-based NxtPaper displays, the tablets rely on LCD. ### TCL Tab A1 NxtPaper TCL Tab A1 NxtPaper

The Tab A1 is based on theHelio G100chipset paired with 6GB of RAM and 128GB storage. This model has a metal unibody that is quite light at 426g. It measures 6.2mm thick and houses the 8,000mAh battery.

This model has a 12.2” LCD with 2,400 x 1,600px resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. It has TCL’s proprietary eye care technology called NxtPaper, which reduces the blue light emitted from the display and the glare from ambient light. The A1 Plus is powered by theSnapdragon 4 Gen 2with 6GB of RAM and 256GB storage. There is a 10,000mAh battery inside with 33W charging support. This model starts at €300 and there is a 512GB variant for €360.

The watch can be customized with replaceable straps, so that kids can match it to their style.

Since its primary functions are not all that useful while Junior is at home, TCL decided to do something interesting with it – the company built a motorized cradle that turns the watch into a little robot desk accessory that can turn side to side.

The TCL Kids Watch K5 (on its own) will sell for €100.
