Strava Enhances Athlete Experience with New Map Styles, Route Saving, and Off-Route Alerts

Strava, the popular platform for athletes, has rolled out a suite of exciting new features designed to elevate your training and exploration. These updates aim to "meet athletes where they are," providing more intuitive and informative tools for cyclists, runners, and hikers alike.

Coming later this summer, Strava is introducing significant improvements to its map styles. These enhancements will offer richer detail on trail surfaces, making it easier to navigate and plan your adventures. You'll also benefit from clearer identification of points of interest, including trailheads, picnic areas, and campgrounds, ensuring you can find essential amenities on your routes.

For Strava subscribers, several powerful new functionalities are now available. The highly anticipated Route Saves feature allows you to effortlessly save your favorite routes directly from the Activity Detail page, Route Detail page, Route Builder, and even the Edit Route interface. This makes it simple to revisit and retrace your best rides and runs.

Furthermore, subscribers can now take advantage of intelligent off-route alerts. This crucial safety and navigation tool notifies you if you deviate from your planned route, helping you stay on course and avoid unexpected detours. Complementing these features are Activity Replays, which provide an engaging way to share your journeys. These auto-animate hikes and activities within your feed, replaying your entire route from start to finish for your friends to enjoy.

While map style improvements are slated for a later release, the Route Saves, off-route alerts, and Activity Replays are available immediately for all Strava subscribers.
