Not satisfied with having one laptop platform, Google introducedGooglebooks– Android-powered laptops. Theofficial pagefor the platform lists laptops from Acer, Asus, Dell, HP and Lenovo. Now it appears that Samsung will be joining the party soon with a Googlebook of its own.
We don’t know what it will be called as Geekbench 7.1.0 only lists its model number – Samsung XE940XSA. Samsung has a “Galaxy Chromebook” for Google’s other laptop platform, so... Galaxy Googlebook? That sounds weird.

Anyway, the chipset is listed as “Hamoa”, which is Qualcomm’s code name for theSnapdragon X Elite. It’s a little disappointing that Samsung didn’t use anX2 series chip, but it’s not alone in this – the Dell and HP Googlebooks also feature the X Elite. Meanwhile, the Acer, Asus and Lenovo laptops use an Intel Core Ultra 5.
All Googlebooks so far have 16GB of RAM and 512GB storage. Indeed, Geekbench confirms 16GB of RAM for the Samsung model (there’s no data on storage, though). The laptop ran Android 17 – again, this isn’t a Chromebook. It should have One UI customizations to the standard Googlebook UI, though we haven’t seen those yet.

The Snapdragon X Elite is a 4nm chip with a total of 12 Oryon cores and an Adreno X1-85 GPU. Based on the clock speeds reported by the benchmark, we think that this is the X1E-80-100 chip (which is also used in the Dell and HP models).
Back in 2024, Samsung released theGalaxy Book4 Edge, which ran Windows 11 on X Elite chips (X1E-80-100 for the 14” model and, optionally, X1E-84-100 for the 16” model). More recently, the company introduced theGalaxy Book6 Edge, which uses a Snapdragon X2 Elite chip (X2E-88-100).
