Samsung Galaxy Buds On: A Closer Look at the Clip-On Earbuds

While leaks surrounding the Galaxy Watch9 and Watch Ultra2 have since culminated in official releases, the much-anticipated Samsung Galaxy Buds On remain elusive. These upcoming earbuds are set to mark Samsung's foray into the clip-on style, offering a potentially more comfortable listening experience for extended use.

Unlike traditional earbuds that are inserted into the ear canal, the Galaxy Buds On feature a clip-on design engineered to secure themselves to your ears. This approach could be a significant advantage for users seeking greater comfort throughout the day.

The technology powering the Galaxy Buds On is expected to be open-ear air conduction. This method directs sound towards the eardrum by utilizing the edges of the ear canal, though the precise implementation of this feature is still under wraps.

Early indications suggest the Galaxy Buds On will incorporate intuitive gesture controls, potentially mirroring some functionalities found in the Galaxy Buds4. These could include head gestures for call management – nodding to accept and shaking to reject.

As expected, Samsung's latest earbuds are slated to offer robust AI assistant integration, supporting both Bixby and Gemini. A notable feature will be automatic volume boosting in noisy environments. Given their open-ear design, advanced Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) is unlikely to be a primary feature, or at least not a highly effective one.

The official launch date for the Samsung Galaxy Buds On is still unknown. They were absent from recent Samsung events, including the unveiling of new Galaxy Watches, the Galaxy S26 FE, and the Galaxy Tab S12 series. Samsung enthusiasts are eagerly awaiting further news.
