Samsung Galaxy A08 Debuts: Bigger Battery, Unnamed Octa-Core Chip

Samsung has officially launched the Galaxy A08, opting for a quiet introduction rather than a grand announcement. Previously spotted on an online retailer in the UAE, the budget-friendly smartphone has now been formally listed on Samsung's websites in Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The Galaxy A08 boasts a 6.7-inch PLS LCD display with a resolution of 720x1600 pixels. Photography enthusiasts can look forward to a 50MP primary rear camera with an f/1.8 aperture, complemented by a 2MP auxiliary rear camera (f/2.4). For selfies, an 8MP front camera is included. A significant upgrade is the device's substantial 6,000 mAh battery.

Under the hood, the Galaxy A08 is powered by an unnamed octa-core chipset clocked at 2.2GHz. This is paired with 4GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 128GB of internal storage, which can be expanded. The smartphone runs on Android 17, overlaid with Samsung's One UI 9. Impressively, Samsung promises six major OS upgrades and six years of security updates, a generous commitment for this segment.

Further enhancing its appeal, the Galaxy A08 features an IP64 rating for dust and water resistance, dual-SIM support, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and an integrated fingerprint sensor. It is available in three color options: silver, green, and dark blue.

Compared to its predecessor, the Galaxy A07, the most notable difference in the Galaxy A08 is the inclusion of a 1,000 mAh larger battery. While European pricing remains undisclosed, the device was previously listed in the UAE for approximately $170.
