Samsung's Advanced Document Scanning Feature Expands Beyond the S26 Series
Samsung is bringing a powerful new document scanning capability, first introduced with the upcoming Galaxy S26 series, to a selection of its older smartphone models. Eligible devices running One UI 8.5 will soon benefit from this enhanced functionality.
Previously, capturing multiple images of documents meant dealing with separate files. The new Document Scan feature revolutionizes this process by enabling users to consolidate multiple document photos into a single, unified PDF. This convenience is already a reality for Galaxy S26 owners.

Samsung has also streamlined access to this essential tool. Users can now create a direct shortcut for Document Scan on their home screen. To enable this, simply navigate to the default Camera app, access Camera settings, select "Scan," then "Document Scan," and toggle on the "Add Document Scan to Apps screen" option.
The rollout of this feature extends to the Galaxy S25 series (including the S25, S25+, S25 Ultra, and S25 Edge), as well as the Galaxy Z Fold7 and Galaxy Z Flip7. Once these devices receive the stable One UI 8.5 update, owners can expect to utilize the improved Document Scan. While other Samsung devices are also slated for One UI 8.5, confirmation regarding their inclusion of Document Scan is still pending.
