Samsung and Google unveil AI-powered smart glasses at Google I/O 2026

According to Google and Samsung, the AI glasses run Android XR and can provide hands-free access to Gemini via voice commands. Users will be able to get turn-by-turn navigation, discover nearby places, and receive personalized recommendations in real time. The glasses will also support a range of productivity features, including the ability to place orders, view summarized message notifications, create calendar events, and more.

In addition, the Android XR glasses will enable real-time translation during conversations, and the built-in camera and AI capabilities can provide instant translation of text and signs. The camera can also be used to capture photos and videos. Like most smart glasses currently on the market, the new wearable will function as a companion device that pairs with a smartphone.

While detailed hardware specifications have yet to be revealed, official images show the glasses equipped with a single camera and an LED indicator light. The AI-powered smart glasses developed by Samsung and Google are slated to launch later this fall, with additional details expected to be shared in the coming months.
