Google Pixel Watch 5 Certification Hints at Key Features and Variants
New information has surfaced regarding the upcoming Google Pixel Watch 5, following recent leaks of its design. A certification listing from India's Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) agency has revealed crucial details about the unreleased wearable, suggesting its imminent launch. The filing includes four distinct model numbers: G0F3Y, G1XJ6, G25QD, and GFW3R. These designations are widely believed to represent the anticipated 41mm and 45mm size options for the Pixel Watch 5, along with its two primary connectivity configurations: a Wi-Fi-only model and a more capable cellular version.
The recent "scuba-diving" leak, which prominently featured the larger 45mm variant of the Pixel Watch 5, provided visual confirmation of several advanced health-tracking capabilities. Among these are a sophisticated heart rate sensor, an integrated UWB (Ultra-Wideband) chip for enhanced spatial awareness and connectivity, and a dedicated pulse sensor. Further enhancing its health monitoring suite, the device is also expected to include SpO2 (blood oxygen saturation) tracking and skin temperature sensing. Adding to the performance upgrades, a persistent rumor points towards the integration of Google's custom Tensor chipset. This powerful new silicon is poised to replace the Qualcomm Snapdragon System-on-Chip (SoC) that powered previous generations of the Pixel Watch, promising a significant leap in performance and efficiency.
