Google Pixel 11 Pro Fold Durability: A Familiar Flaw Revealed
Following a recent examination of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8, renowned tech influencer Zack from JerryRigEverything has turned his attention to the highly anticipated Google Pixel 11 Pro Fold. The latest durability test sheds light on a persistent design issue that Google appears to have repeated.
The rigorous testing began with the customary scratch resistance evaluation on the Pixel 11 Pro Fold's various surfaces, followed by a controlled flame test to assess heat tolerance. The device was then subjected to a more challenging environment, being covered in sand and grit to simulate real-world wear and tear.
The most telling part of the durability assessment was the bend test. In a disappointing but not entirely unexpected turn, the Pixel 11 Pro Fold exhibited the same critical flaw that has plagued Google's previous foldable devices. The screen cracked precisely along both antenna lines, marking the fourth consecutive iteration of this design oversight.
Adding to the concern, this time the front glass of the Pixel 11 Pro Fold also detached during the bending process. For a comprehensive look at the testing methodology and to see if the Pixel 11 Pro Fold met a similar end to the Pixel 10 Pro Fold, which famously combusted during its own durability test, viewers are encouraged to watch the full video.
