Oppo Reno 17 Series India Launch: What to Expect from the Incoming Models
Whispers from the tech grapevine suggest that while the top-tier Oppo Reno17 Pro might be skipping the Indian market, two other models are slated for an imminent arrival. According to a recent tipster report, the Oppo Reno17 and the Oppo Reno17c are the devices expected to grace Indian shores.
The details emerging hint at a familiar chipset strategy for the Reno17 and Reno17c. The Reno17 is rumored to be equipped with the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 SoC, while the Reno17c is anticipated to feature the Dimensity 7300. These are the very same processors that powered their predecessors, the Reno16 and Reno16c respectively, reinforcing a previous claim that the Reno17 series will offer largely similar specifications to the current generation.
While the Reno17 Pro's exclusion from India is notable, the tipster also provided further insights into its potential specifications. This premium model is said to boast a 6.32-inch 1.5K flat OLED display with a high refresh rate. Under the hood, it's expected to be powered by the Dimensity 8550 chipset. The camera system is particularly impressive, with a rumored 200MP main sensor, complemented by a 50MP ultrawide, a 50MP telephoto lens, and a 50MP selfie camera. Powering this array would be a substantial battery, estimated to be around 7,000 mAh.
Further details about the Reno17 Pro include a metal frame, an IP69 rating for robust protection, and charging capabilities of approximately 80W, mirroring the Reno16 Pro's charging speed. The reason cited for the Reno17 Pro's absence from the Indian market? Simply put, "Price!" This isn't the first time a Pro model has bypassed India; the Reno16 Pro also did not launch there, despite its siblings being available.
The Oppo Reno17 series is reportedly set to debut in China in November, running on ColorOS 17 based on Android 17. Following this, the Indian launch is anticipated in early January.
