Oppo Find X10 Ultra: Rumors Suggest Flagship Camera Phone Might Be Cancelled

While Oppo recently launched its Find X10 and Find X10 Pro Max globally, anticipation was high for the Find X10 Ultra, expected to be the ultimate camera-focused flagship early next year. However, a recent report from Digital Chat Station on Weibo suggests that Oppo's ambitious Ultra project has been put on hold.

Although no official reason has been provided, industry speculation points towards the prohibitive cost of memory modules. Given the Find X10 Ultra was slated to be a camera powerhouse, and advanced camera components are inherently expensive, escalating memory prices could have propelled the device's final cost to unprecedented levels.

Previous leaks painted a picture of an extraordinary device. Rumors indicated the Ultra would feature a groundbreaking 200MP LOFIC main camera, complemented by dual periscope telephoto lenses – one boasting an impressive 10x optical zoom. For selfie enthusiasts, a square 100MP camera was reportedly in development. On the performance front, Oppo was allegedly testing both a Dimensity 9600 Pro and a Snapdragon chipset, with the latter considered the more probable choice.

This potential cancellation isn't an isolated incident. Xiaomi's 18 Ultra has also been rumored to be scrapped for this generation. Intriguingly, Digital Chat Station also hinted that the Xiaomi 18 Ultra was planned to incorporate the company's proprietary Xring O3 SoC. If these reports hold true, the Find X10 Pro Max will continue to reign as Oppo's most potent flagship offering.
