Oppo Find N6: Will You Fold for This Flagship?
The foldable smartphone market continues to evolve, and Oppo's latest offering, the Find N6, aims to impress. While it may not shave off precious millimeters, Oppo has made strategic upgrades that might just sway your decision.
One significant enhancement is the beefed-up battery. The Find N6 now boasts a 6,000mAh capacity, an increase from the Find N5's 5,600mAh. This means the device maintains a familiar profile: 4.2mm when open and 8.9mm when closed, tipping the scales at 225g (a slight decrease from 229g). These dimensions were already well-received, and the added battery life is a welcome addition.
Furthermore, Oppo has addressed durability with an IP5X dust resistance rating for the hinge, complementing the existing IPX8 water resistance and the new IPX9 rating. These improvements offer greater peace of mind for daily use.
Camera Powerhouse: A New Era of Foldable Photography
The camera system on the Find N6 sees a substantial overhaul, promising a significant leap in imaging capabilities:
- Main Sensor: A groundbreaking 200MP main sensor (1/1.56") replaces the previous 50MP unit, offering incredible detail and clarity.
- Ultra-Wide: The ultra-wide camera gets a boost to 50MP, up from 8MP, for expansive shots.
- Selfie Cameras: Both the outer and inner selfie cameras now feature 20MP sensors, an upgrade from 8MP, ensuring high-quality self-portraits.
- Telephoto: A new telephoto camera makes its debut. While its on-paper specifications (50MP 3x/70mm) appear similar to the previous model's 50MP 3x/75mm, real-world performance will be rigorously tested in our full review.
We've already had a hands-on experience and unboxed the Oppo Find N6, and our in-depth review is underway. In the meantime, we're keen to hear your initial thoughts on this exciting new foldable.
The Oppo Find N6 has rolled out in select markets this Friday. While the base 12GB/256GB model starts at CNY 10,000 (approximately $1,450 USD), it's important to note that Oppo has confirmed the N6 will not be launching in Europe, primarily targeting Asian consumers.
