Samsung continues its phased rollout of the One UI 8.5 beta program, with the second iteration now reaching a broader range of devices. Galaxy S23 series owners, along with those rocking the Galaxy Z Flip5, Galaxy A36, and Galaxy A35, are now eligible to download this latest beta build, bringing further refinements and security enhancements.

Galaxy S23 Series Gets April Security Patch and Bug Fixes

The Galaxy S23, S23+, and S23 Ultra are receiving the One UI 8.5 beta 2 update in India and South Korea. This substantial update, weighing in at over 700MB, carries the firmware version ending in ZZDP and crucially includes the April 2026 security patch. Alongside enhanced security, the update addresses several key bug fixes:
  • Call Screen Improvements: Resolved issues with late or black incoming call screens.
  • Proximity Sensor Fixes: Improved proximity release behavior during calls.
  • Video Recording Stability: Addressed green line artifacts when recording 4K HDR video on certain camera apps.
  • Bluetooth Stability: Patched Bluetooth crash issues.
  • Accessibility Enhancements: Fixed multi-touch malfunctions that occurred after enabling accessibility features.

Galaxy Z Flip5 Benefits from Audio and Display Tweaks

The innovative Galaxy Z Flip5 is also embracing the One UI 8.5 beta 2 update, identifiable by firmware version F731NKSU6ZZDN. This update, available in South Korea, is approximately 760MB and incorporates the April 2026 security patch. Key improvements for the Flip5 include:
  • Enhanced Speaker Volume: Improved speaker call volume and sound quality, particularly during driving.

  • Quick Panel Responsiveness: Improved sluggishness or delay when lowering the Quick Panel.
