This price adjustment isn't limited to the US. Canadian consumers will also experience a CAD $50 increase, while European shoppers can expect to pay an additional €40. For those in Japan, the price hike takes effect even sooner, on May 25th.

Impact on Sales and Nintendo's Outlook

Interestingly, this price increase comes alongside Nintendo's projection of a slight dip in Switch 2 sales for the upcoming fiscal year. This forecast might be linked to the price adjustment, a common strategy when product costs rise.

Despite the anticipated slowdown, it's worth noting the Switch 2's strong performance. In its initial full fiscal year, Nintendo successfully sold 19.86 million units, surpassing the original Switch's first-year sales of 15.05 million units. However, for the next year, Nintendo anticipates selling 16.5 million units.
