Moto G47 Power: Massive 7,000 mAh Battery Headlines Latest Motorola Release

Motorola has officially launched the Moto G47 Power in Europe, expanding its G-series lineup with a device that prioritizes endurance. This new model isn't a direct successor to the April-released Moto G47, but rather a significant enhancement, particularly in its battery capacity.

The standout feature of the Moto G47 Power is its substantial 7,000 mAh battery, a considerable upgrade from the 5,200 mAh cell found in its predecessor. This capacity aligns perfectly with earlier EPREL listings and visual leaks, confirming the device's robust power credentials.

Beyond the impressive battery life, charging speeds have also seen an improvement, jumping from 20W to 30W wired charging. Additionally, the Moto G47 Power offers 6W wired reverse charging, allowing users to power up other compatible devices on the go. Motorola claims an astounding up to 78 hours of usage on a single charge, setting a new benchmark for smartphone longevity.

This increased battery capacity does come with a slight trade-off in portability. The Moto G47 Power measures 166.23x76.5x8.89mm and weighs 215g, compared to the G47's 7.9mm thickness and 191g weight. However, for many users, the extended battery life will likely outweigh the marginal increase in dimensions.

The display remains a 6.67-inch LCD panel with a 720x1604 resolution and a smooth 120Hz refresh rate. It boasts a peak brightness of 1,050 nits in high brightness mode and is protected by Gorilla Glass 7i. Under the hood, the Moto G47 Power is powered by the Dimensity 6300 chipset, coupled with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. A microSD card slot is present for expandable storage.

Camera specifications include a 108MP main sensor on the rear, accompanied by a 2MP macro lens. For selfies, an 8MP front-facing camera is integrated. The device retains popular features like the 3.5mm headphone jack, stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos support, IP64 dust and splash resistance, and MIL-STD-810H certification.

Other notable features include NFC and a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. A point of contention for some may be the pre-installed operating system, with the Moto G47 Power launching with Android 16, despite Android 17 having been released earlier this year.
