Moto G Max India Launch: A Distinctly Different Device Arrives

Motorola has officially launched the Moto G Max in India, and it's not the same smartphone that debuted in Brazil back in June. This Indian variant brings a unique set of specifications, offering a fresh perspective on the Moto G Max lineup.

Processor and Memory: A Clear Distinction

One of the most significant differences lies under the hood. While the Brazilian Moto G Max (a rebadged Moto G87) boasts a Dimensity 6400 SoC, the Indian version is powered by the Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 chip. Memory configurations also diverge, with the Indian Moto G Max arriving in a single 6GB RAM and 128GB storage setup. This contrasts with the Brazilian model's more expansive options of up to 12GB RAM and 512GB storage.

Display and Durability: Striking a New Balance

The display on the Indian Moto G Max measures 6.72 inches diagonally, a slightly smaller footprint than its Brazilian counterpart. It features an LCD panel with a crisp 2,400x1,080-pixel resolution and a fluid 120Hz refresh rate. Users can expect vibrant visuals thanks to a peak brightness of 1,050 nits (HBM). The display is further protected by Gorilla Glass 7i.

Camera Capabilities: A Mid-Range Marvel

The rear camera system receives a notable overhaul. The Indian Moto G Max is equipped with a versatile dual-camera setup, featuring a 50MP primary camera (LYTIA 600) and an 8MP ultrawide camera with an impressive 119.5° field of view. This differs significantly from the Brazilian model's 200MP main sensor. For selfies, both versions share a capable 32MP front-facing camera.

Battery Life and Charging: Powering Through the Day

A substantial 7,000 mAh battery powers the Indian Moto G Max, providing an additional 1,800 mAh compared to the Brazilian variant. The device ships with a 33W power adapter in India and supports 30W charging, mirroring the capabilities of its international counterpart.

Connectivity and Other Considerations

While the Indian Moto G Max omits NFC, it includes the convenience of FM Radio. It also features Bluetooth 5.1, a slight step down from the 5.4 standard found on some other devices.
