Update:Ice Universeisconvincedthat the video actually shows a Galaxy Z Fold7 and not the Z Fold8 Ultra. Among other clues, Ice points out that the Z Fold8 generation is supposed to introduce an anti-reflective film and the device in the video is showing a lot of reflections. Also, the punch hole for the selfie camera is bigger than it issupposed to be- this is something thatIcehas been keeping a close eye on. At CES, Samsung showcased a foldable displaywith no visible crease. We all knew this was a teaser for the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra and now we have proof – someone from the production chain took a video of a working device that shows off the invisible crease. It’s not the best-quality video (it does get better after it switches to landscape mode), but the key thing to look at is the reflection from the overhead light – this is the kind of lighting setup that makes creases pop out the most. And the display looks perfectly flat. It took a few generations, but Samsung Display finally figured it out. This may not have come withoutsacrifices, but it’s an impressive feat nonetheless. Will this be better thanOppo Find N6’s “Zero-Feel Crease”? That is a question to ask once we have a review unit. Later on, Apple will introduce itsfirst-ever foldableand the crease was a major concern for the perfectionists at Cupertino. The problem was solved with the help of none other than Samsung Display. In case you missed it, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra will be the successor to the Z Fold7. The Galaxy Z Fold8 (without “Ultra”) will be the new wide-format foldable –dummy unitsof both were photographed a few days ago. Then there is the Galaxy Z Flip8, the latest (andpossibly last) flip-style foldable. You can see all three models (and the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2) in the form of CAD-based rendershere.
