According to the leaked promotional materials, the QuietComfort (2nd Gen) will feature a "refreshed look with a sleek, modern aesthetic" along with "more soft, synthetic leather details." The headphones sport redesigned oval-shaped earcups, while the outer cover appears flatter than on the 1st Gen.

The headband also looks wider and is wrapped in padded soft synthetic leather. Another notable change is the contrasting color used for the mesh lining inside the earcups. Each earcup houses three microphones to assist with active noise cancellation. The renders also suggest that Bose is sticking with physical buttons for playback and other controls.
