It retails for INR 8,500 ($90), but it also brings specs that showcase just how severe the global memory shortage is hitting entry-level devices. Let’s start with the display. Lava Smart 4 brings a 6.56-inch LCD with 960 x 540 px resolution. That’s a 540p display with 168ppi in 2026. Outside of the low resolution, the phone comes with a 90Hz refresh rate and a waterdrop notch which houses the 5MP front-facing camera. Next up, the chipset. We have the familiar Unisoc 9863A. A 28nm SoC, which was originally announced back in 2018. It’s been a staple among Lava devices, but that’s not the worst bit. The phone is equipped with a mere 3GB of RAM, which just sounds too little for anything. Lava Smart 4 key specs

As a result, Smart 4 is running Android 16 Go Edition. Regular Android 16 requires at least 6GB of RAM. The mediocre specs continue with an 8MP main camera and a 5,000 mAh battery, which supports 10W charging. Thankfully, it’s USB-C. Lava Smart 4 comes in Konark Gold and Ajanta Grey colors. It will be available across India from licensed Lava retailers.
