New reports from South Korea suggest that Apple is actively seeking ways to manage the increasing expenses associated with memory and storage for its forthcoming iPhone 18 Pro Max. A key strategy involves securing more budget-friendly displays from its panel suppliers, Samsung Display and LG.

It's understood that Apple is negotiating an average screen price of approximately $66.5 for the iPhone 18 Pro Max. This figure represents a significant reduction, reportedly nearly 20%, compared to what the company paid for the iPhone 17 Pro Max's display, which was in the $80 range. This trend of decreasing display costs for Apple isn't new; screens for the iPhone 16 Pro Max were even more expensive, sometimes exceeding $100.

Despite the push for lower prices, this doesn't necessarily translate to a compromise in display quality for the iPhone 18 Pro Max. The device is expected to feature M16, the latest generation of organic materials. This advanced material is known to enhance luminous efficiency, extend lifespan, and improve color accuracy, promising an excellent visual experience.

The cost savings on displays are crucial for Apple as it aims to offset the escalating costs of other internal components. Rumors already indicate that the iPhone 18 Pro Max might see a price increase due to the higher expense of memory and storage.
