Infinix Note 70 Pro Spotted on Geekbench with Enigmatic Snapdragon Chipset

Fresh details have emerged regarding the upcoming Infinix Note 70 Pro, following its recent appearance in a certification database. While a previous DevCheck entry hinted at the inclusion of a Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 chipset for its X6766 model, a new Geekbench listing presents a more complex picture.

The benchmark results reveal a Qualcomm SM7635 chipset, characterized by a CPU configuration featuring one core at 2.96GHz, three cores at 2.71GHz, and four cores at 2.02GHz. This is complemented by an Adreno 810 GPU. The device was tested with 8GB of RAM, running on Android 17, and achieved scores of 1,145 in the single-core test and 3,523 in the multi-core test.

The intrigue lies in the SM7635 part number, which is associated with both the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 and the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4. However, neither of these established chipsets matches the specific CPU clock speeds observed in the benchmark. The Snapdragon 7s Gen 4, for instance, has its clusters clocked at 2.7GHz, 2.4GHz, and 1.8GHz, and crucially, it does not feature the Adreno 810 GPU. The Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 also lacks this particular GPU.

This discrepancy suggests two possibilities: either we are looking at an entirely new chipset, potentially dubbed the Snapdragon 7s Gen 5, or an overclocked variant of the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4. Regardless, this would signify a performance enhancement over the Infinix Note 60 Pro, which utilizes the standard Snapdragon 7s Gen 4. This suggests that battery improvements might not be the sole significant upgrade for the Note 70 Pro. On a positive note, the Infinix Note 70 Pro is expected to ship with Android 17 out of the box, a welcome feature in today's smartphone market.
