Huawei unveiled its latest smartwatches with the Watch 6 and Watch 6 Pro slotting in as the new flagship wearables from the brand. They are joined by the Watch GT 7 and Watch GT 7 Pro which were previouslyannouncedin China as well as the Watch D3 and FreeBuds Neo with the latter two covered in aseparate post.

All Watch 6 members get LTPO OLED touchscreens protected by artificial sapphire glass. Watch 6 maxes out at 3,000 nits peak brightness while the Watch 6 Pro models go a bit brighter with a maximum rating of 3,500 nits. All Watch 6 series models are also available in an optional eSIM connectivity version.

Huawei’s X-Tap sensor is making its return from the Watch 5 series. It allows simultaneous measurement of several key health metrics, and the one in the Watch 6 adds support for hypertension, diabetes, and coronary heart disease risk studies. This brings the X-Tap’s grand total to 14 health metrics, and Huawei claims it managed to increase the sensor’s sensitivity by 100% while also expanding it from 4 to 12 channels.

Battery life ranges from 3 days of typical usage on the 42 and 43mm models to 7 days with battery saver enabled. The 46mm trims are rated at 4.5 days of typical usage and up to 11 days with battery saver mode.

Watch GT 7 comes in 41mm and 46mm case sizes, while the Pro model is only available in the larger size. Depending on the size, you get either a 1.32-inch or a 1.47-inch AMOLED touchscreen with 3,000 nits peak brightness.

Watch GT 7 features a stainless-steel case and fiber composite back, while Watch GT 7 Pro brings a titanium alloy case paired with a nanocrystalline ceramic rear panel. Huawei is bringing new color options and a revised tuck-under watch strap.

Both watches are equipped with optical heart rate sensors and a skin temperature sensor, but the GT 7 Pro also adds ECG support. On the sports tracking side, the GT 7 series adds expanded sports tracking features for cycling, skiing and golf. Huawei is touting a superior positioning algorithm with over 50% improvement in skiing mode.

Battery life is rated at 7 days on the 41mm Watch GT 7 and up to 12 days on the 46mm Watch GT 7 and GT 7 Pro models. Lighter loads will bring the runtime to 14 and 21 days respectively. The larger versions are also advertised to last up to 51 hours with continuous GPS in running mode.
