New details about the true successor toHuawei’s Mate XT Ultimate Editiontri-fold smartphone have surfaced online. The device is said to be called the Mate XT2 and is expected to bring several upgrades over the Mate XT from 2024, as well as the more recently launchedMate XTs.
According to a tipster on Weibo, Huawei is expected to unveil the Mate XT2 in October this year alongside the Mate 90 series. The device is said to be powered by the Kirin 9050 Pro chipset. For context, the Mate XTs featured the Kirin 9020, while the original Mate XT was equipped with the Kirin 9010.

The tipster also claims that the upcoming tri-fold smartphone may feature a battery with a capacity exceeding 6,000mAh.
The Huawei Mate XT2 is also tipped to feature an upgraded hinge designed to significantly reduce the display crease. It is further said to support stylus input.
