At a recent event in Malaysia, Huawei showcased more than just its Pura 90s flagship smartphones. The tech giant also introduced the refreshed FreeClip 2 S Signature Edition earbuds and the updated MatePad Air (2026) tablet, signaling minor but noteworthy enhancements to its audio and tablet lines.

The new FreeClip 2 S earbuds build upon their predecessors, retaining the impressive dual-diaphragm drivers and a three-microphone system for effective noise cancellation. Users can expect up to 9 hours of continuous playback, with the charging case extending the total listening time to a robust 38 hours.

A key innovation in the FreeClip 2 S is the upgraded Adaptive Volume algorithm. Powered by Huawei's third-generation audio chip and an AI-dedicated NPU, these earbuds offer intelligent features like real-time awareness. This technology allows the earbuds to dynamically adjust volume based on ambient noise, a significant benefit for open-ear designs like the FreeClip 2 S, which lack passive noise isolation. Additionally, the AI processing optimizes voice clarity during calls by adjusting your voice in real-time.

The FreeClip 2 S Signature Edition arrives in two new sophisticated colorways: Deepsea Blue and Space Silver. Adding a touch of personal flair, Huawei has partnered with French jewelry house Les Néréides to offer exclusive clip-on accessories. These accessories transform the aesthetic of the FreeClip 2 S, and the updated charging case is slightly larger to accommodate them.
