Google's rumored Pixel Glow feature may launch as HiLight, supported colors leak

Google's upcoming Pixel 11 Pro series will come with an RGB LED notification light integrated into the rear camera bar. The feature was previously rumored to be called Pixel Glow, but a new leak suggests it could be marketed under the HiLight branding. Tipster Evan Blass recently shared newpromotionalimagesof thePixel 11 ProandPixel 11 Pro Foldthat reference the RGB LED light on the rear camera bar. Notably, the marketing materials refer to the feature as HiLight, rather than the previously rumored Pixel Glow.

As per the leaked promotional images, the HiLight feature will glow when the Pixel 11 Pro series is placed face down, notifying users of calls from specific contacts or indicating that Gemini is in use. While we don’t yet know all the intended use cases of the HiLight feature, areportfrom 9to5Google claims to have uncovered code in the latest version of the Google Contacts app that sheds light on one of its functionalities.

According to the code strings, the Google Contacts app will let users assign a HiLight color to individual contacts. The report adds that users will be able to choose from Blue, Cyan, Green, Orange, Pink, Purple, Teal, White, and Yellow for contact-specific notifications. TheGoogle Pixel 11, Pixel 11 Pro,Pixel 11 Pro XL, and the Pixel 11 Pro Fold are set to goofficial on August 12.
