While the official launch of the Google Pixel 11 series is anticipated around August, recent leaks are giving us a significant glimpse into the heart of the next generation of Pixel devices. Following early CAD renders, crucial specifications for the upcoming Tensor G6 chipset have surfaced, hinting at notable CPU improvements.
According to a leaked screenshot, the Tensor G6 is set to embrace a refreshed ARM CPU core configuration. This new design features a single ARM C1 Ultra core operating at a speedy 4.11GHz. Complementing this powerhouse are four ARM C1 Pro cores clocked at 3.38GHz, and an additional two C1 Pro cores running at 2.65GHz. This arrangement signifies a substantial upgrade from its predecessor, the Tensor G5, promising enhanced overall performance for the Pixel 11 lineup.
However, the leak also points to a potential area of compromise. The Tensor G6 is expected to integrate a PowerVR C-Series CXTP-48-1536 GPU. While Google may implement an updated version, this particular GPU architecture is not the newest on the market. This suggests that while the Pixel 11 will likely deliver robust performance for everyday tasks and productivity, it might not be a top contender for intensive mobile gaming.
Beyond the chipset, the leaked information also sheds light on the codenames for the upcoming Pixel 11 variants: Cubs for the standard Pixel 11, Grizzly for the Pixel 11 Pro, and Kodiak for the Pixel 11 Pro XL. This aligns with Google's established naming conventions for its flagship smartphone family. Adding to the security aspect, a prior leak indicated that the Tensor G6 SoC would also incorporate a new Titan M3 security chip, further bolstering device protection.
