Galaxy S27 Pro will use a Snapdragon chip only in select regions, Exynos 2700 everywhere else

For a bit, the Samsung Galaxy S27 Pro sounded like a “mini Ultra” with leaks about aPrivacy Display featurefor its6.47” screen. We were reminded that this wasn’t the case when it came out that the Pro and Ultra will usedifferent telephoto cameras(but they will have the same main, ultra-wide andselfie cameras). And now here’s another reminder. The Samsung Galaxy S27 Pro will use an Exynos 2700 chipset everywhere outside of North America, reports Korea’sMoney Today. China traditionally gets Snapdragon too, but that wasn’t mentioned in the report. The S27 Ultra will use the new Snapdragon Elite chip globally, of course. So, no, the S27 Pro will not be a “mini Ultra”, no matter how much you wish it were.

It’s what it sounds like – the DRAM and chipset are placed next to each other and are connected by a silicon interposer. This will help with heat transfer as normally heat from the chipset has to pass through the DRAM chip before making it to the cooling block.Early benchmarksdidn’t wow us, but note that that particular test sample ran at very low clock speeds – the top core was only doing 2.88GHz compared to 3.8GHz for the Exynos 2600 prime core and a reported max clock speed of4.2GHzfor the Exynos 2700 (this is supposed to be an ARM C2 Ultra core). It was never in doubt, but the vanilla Samsung Galaxy S27 and the Galaxy S27+ are expected to use the Exynos 2700 in most markets too, again with the exception of North America (and possibly China).
