Fairphone 6+: Upgraded Chipset and More Revealed in Leaked Specs
The upcoming Fairphone 6+ is shaping up to be more than just a minor refresh. Beyond increased RAM and a fresh color option, a comprehensive leak from EvLeaks suggests the Fairphone 6+ will also boast a new chipset, promising a modest performance boost.
The leaked specifications, helpfully highlighting changes from the standard Fairphone 6 in bold text, confirm a significant RAM upgrade. The Fairphone 6+ is expected to feature 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM, an increase from the 8GB found in its predecessor. Storage remains consistent at 256GB of UFS 3.1, with the convenient addition of a microSD card slot for expandable storage.
Visually, the Fairphone 6+ introduces a new Cobalt Blue color variant. This joins the existing Horizon Black and Forest Green options. Notably, it appears the Cloud White colorway from the Fairphone 6 will not be carried over to the Plus model.
While pricing details remain elusive, the current Fairphone 6 retails for €550. Considering the current market for RAM components, it's highly probable that the Fairphone 6+ will command a higher price point, though the exact increase is yet to be determined.
