Industry Insider Evan Blass Hangs Up His @evleaks Hat

The tech world is bidding farewell to a familiar face and a prolific source of insider information. Evan Blass, widely recognized as the voice behind the influential @evleaks X (formerly Twitter) account, has announced his retirement from the platform after nearly 14 years of service.

Blass cited a desire to pursue more "fruitful" endeavors beyond the realm of phone leaks and wallpaper drops. He candidly admitted that maintaining the @evleaks persona has not provided a sustainable income, impacting his ability to manage essential healthcare needs. Blass shared that he is currently unable to afford a crucial prescription due to a diagnosis of Multiple Sclerosis (MS) in 2014.

For over a decade, Evan Blass has been a go-to source for breaking news and exclusive glimpses of unreleased devices, regularly featured on numerous tech publications, including our own. His journey as a leaker began in 2009, a full three years before the inception of the iconic @evleaks account.

This isn't the first time Blass has stepped away from his renowned leak operation. He previously retired @evleaks in 2014, citing similar financial challenges and the difficulty of making a consistent living from such activities.

We extend our sincerest best wishes to Evan Blass as he embarks on this new chapter. He plans to shift his social media activity to his Instagram account, @EvanBlass, which also aligns with his payment handles for donations on PayPal and Venmo.
