AT&T Announces Impending Internet Price Increase: What You Need to Know
Prepare for a change in your monthly internet bill. Leaked internal documents indicate that AT&T is set to implement a price adjustment affecting specific customer segments starting August 16.
Customers with copper and fiber internet plans established between June 2024 and July 2025 can expect their monthly charges to go up by $5. This price change also extends to customers enrolled in the $15 per month Copper Plan, offering speeds up to 50Mbps, which was grandfathered in this past May.
The internal memo instructs AT&T employees to communicate this change to affected customers by stating that "AT&T is making a small adjustment to your monthly internet rate" to "maintain the high-quality service you deserve."
While AT&T highlights its own data claiming its Wireless & Fiber customers "experience the fastest converged speeds in the nation," this price adjustment will nonetheless impact a portion of its customer base. If your service falls under these new pricing tiers, AT&T states you should have already received notification through the "News You Can Use" section within the AT&T app and your online account.
