Apple Achieves Unprecedented Quarterly Revenue: iPhone & Mac Sales Soar, Services Hit New Highs
Apple has once again demonstrated its market dominance, announcing a spectacular record revenue of $114.5 billion for the fiscal fourth quarter ending in September. This impressive figure represents a 12% year-over-year increase, underscoring the company's sustained growth. The company also reported a healthy gross margin of 47.9% and earnings per share of $2.10, a 14% jump compared to the previous year. Notably, tariff refunds contributed positively, adding $0.05 per share and 1 percentage point to the gross margin.
Looking at the full fiscal year 2026, Apple capped off a remarkable period with a record-breaking revenue of $479 billion, accompanied by double-digit growth in earnings per share. This financial performance solidifies Apple's position as a leader in the global technology market.
iPhone Sales Drive Record Performance
The cornerstone of Apple's success remains the iPhone. During the September quarter, iPhone sales generated a staggering $57.6 billion in revenue, a significant increase from the $49.0 billion reported during the same period last year. For the entire fiscal year, iPhone sales reached an impressive $254.1 billion, up from $209.6 billion the previous year, highlighting the continued strong demand for its flagship smartphone.
Services Reach All-Time High, Mac Sales Surge
Beyond hardware, Apple's Services division has achieved an unprecedented milestone, reaching an all-time high revenue of $31.6 billion for the quarter, up from $28.8 billion year-over-year. The full-year revenue for Services climbed to an impressive $123.3 billion, a substantial increase from $109.2 billion. This growth in Services indicates the increasing value and engagement customers find within Apple's ecosystem.
In a significant shift, Mac sales have climbed to become Apple's third-largest revenue-generating category. The September quarter saw Mac sales reach $10.8 billion, a notable increase from $8.7 billion a year prior. This performance propelled Macs ahead of the Wearables, Home, and Accessories segment, which saw a slight dip from $9.0 billion to $8.3 billion. Macs also outperformed in full-year sales, further cementing their growing importance. Meanwhile, iPad sales experienced a decline, falling from $6.9 billion to $6.2 billion during the quarter.
Regional Performance and Future Outlook
Geographically, the Americas continue to be Apple's strongest market, contributing $48.7 billion in net sales for the quarter. Europe followed with $32 billion, while Greater China generated $17.5 billion.
"Today, Apple is proud to report a September quarter revenue record of $114.5 billion, up 12 percent from a year ago, with iPhone reaching a September quarter record and Services reaching an all-time high, capping off our best fiscal year ever," stated Apple's CEO. "We’re closing the year with our most ambitious lineup yet. That includes the iPhone Duo, the most transformational iPhone since the original, alongside iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max, our most powerful iPhones yet. We also just introduced a whole new generation of hardware for the home and brought Touch to Mac for the first time. Together with the all-new Siri AI, it’s an incredible lineup to carry us into the holiday season."
