The brief clip showcases a user interacting with the AirPods. The scenario depicts the wearer picking up a book and posing a question. A voiceover then announces, "With Visual Intelligence, your world becomes savable. See something you like? Just ask me to save it for later."

This narrative perfectly aligns with prior reports suggesting that the primary function of the AirPods' cameras will be to empower Siri with "Visual Intelligence." This groundbreaking feature is anticipated to enable the assistant to analyze the wearer's immediate surroundings via the cameras, delivering contextually relevant information. Importantly, these cameras are not expected to be capable of capturing standalone photos.

The macOS 26.7 release candidate reportedly contains more than just the video. It is said to include direct references to the setup process for Visual Intelligence on AirPods, and also reveals the codename B790, believed to be associated with the upcoming AirPods iteration. Furthermore, the publication identified an alert stating, "To get the most accurate information about things in your environment, make sure AirPods are not covered." This suggests a practical consideration for optimal performance.

While some reports point to a potential unveiling of these camera-equipped AirPods alongside the iPhone 18 Pro lineup in September, other industry analysts, such as Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, have indicated a possible delay, pushing the AirPods' release to late 2027.
