Samsung unveils the Galaxy Z Flip7 Olympic Edition

Today Samsung is taking the wraps off theGalaxy Z Flip7Olympic Edition. It's the latest in a line of special editions Samsung is making for the Olympics. In this case, we're talking about the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics, taking place from February 4 to February 22.

The Galaxy Z Flip7 Olympic Edition "introduces an iconic design that commemorates athletes’ participation in the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games, as well as practical services to help enhance their experience in the Olympic Village and throughout competition", Samsung says in its official press release. The blue color on the back "aligns with the unique style of Milano Cortina 2026", whatever that means, and "represents the combination of Samsung's long-standing identity and the cultural resonance of Italian azure". But wait - the color "also reflects the spirit of unity and sportsmanship embodied by the Olympic Games", somehow.

The gold metal frame "symbolizes athletes’ pursuit of excellence and podium moments, as well as the brand’s aspiration for the best". As you can see from the image below, the device comes with a clear magnet case with a blue circular magnet, surrounded by gold laurel leaves which are "added as a motif of victory".

The athletes will even receive a 100GB 5G eSIM from Samsung, since the company clearly knows most of them won't switch from their iPhones. The Galaxy Z Flip7 Olympic Edition will be distributed at Olympic Villages across six cities starting on January 30.
