Samsung's Galaxy AI Evolves: A New Multi-Agent Ecosystem with Perplexity AI Integration

Samsung is charting a bold course for the future of artificial intelligence within its devices. Internal research revealed a compelling trend: nearly 8 out of 10 users regularly interact with more than two AI agents. Recognizing this multi-AI usage, Samsung is transforming Galaxy AI into a sophisticated multi-agent ecosystem, promising a significantly smoother and more intuitive experience for managing diverse AI capabilities.

This reimagined Galaxy AI will feature deep AI agent integration at the operating system (OS) level. This strategic move ensures Samsung remains at the forefront of the rapidly advancing AI landscape, allowing for seamless incorporation of new AI agents while maintaining the familiar and cohesive Galaxy user experience.

The benefits of this system-level integration are profound. Users will gain effortless control over various AI agents without the constant need to switch between different applications or repeatedly issue commands. Crucially, this deeper integration provides AI agents with the necessary context, leading to more natural, relevant, and productive interactions.

Leading the charge as the first new AI agent to join this advanced ecosystem is Perplexity AI. Users will be able to summon this powerful assistant with a simple voice command, "Hey Plex," or by conveniently assigning it to the device’s side button (typically the power button). This groundbreaking feature is set to debut on "upcoming flagship Galaxy devices," with strong speculation pointing towards the highly anticipated Galaxy S26 series.

Plex, the Perplexity AI agent, will be deeply embedded across Samsung’s core first-party applications, including Gallery, Notes, Calendar, Clock, and Reminder. Its intelligence extends beyond these native tools, with support also planned for select third-party applications. This powerful agent is engineered to handle complex, multi-step workflows, streamlining tasks and enhancing productivity for Galaxy users.

While specific details regarding supported devices and comprehensive feature sets are expected "soon," industry observers anticipate that the upcoming One UI 8.5 update could enable some or all of these advanced capabilities on existing Galaxy S and Galaxy Z foldable models, extending the innovation to a wider user base.
