iPhone 18 Pro: Selfie Camera Set for Significant Upgrade, New Rumor Suggests
Whispers from the tech grapevine are intensifying regarding the front-facing camera capabilities of the upcoming iPhone 18 Pro. A recent report echoes earlier speculation, indicating a notable enhancement for the device's selfie camera, though this upgrade might be exclusive to the premium Pro models.
According to insights shared by tipster Whylab, both the iPhone 18 Pro and its larger counterpart, the iPhone 18 Pro Max, are slated to boast a 24MP selfie camera. This aligns perfectly with a previous report from November that also hinted at a 24MP front sensor upgrade for the next generation of iPhones.
Should this rumor prove true, users can anticipate a substantial leap in image quality for their selfies, video calls, and even low-light photography captured with the front camera. Expect sharper details, improved color accuracy, and enhanced performance in challenging lighting conditions.
Beyond the selfie camera, the iPhone 18 Pro series is also rumored to sport a considerably smaller Dynamic Island. This potential design tweak is reportedly achievable by relocating some of the Face ID components to reside beneath the display, a move that could lead to a more immersive screen experience.
Apple is widely expected to unveil the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max in their traditional September launch window. This event is also rumored to be the debut for the highly anticipated iPhone Fold.
