Samsung Smart TVs Get Google Photos App: A First for Any TV Platform

In a groundbreaking move for smart television integration, Samsung has announced the upcoming availability of the Google Photos app on its smart TV lineup. This marks a significant milestone, as it represents the very first time Google Photos will be accessible as a dedicated application on any TV platform. Notably, even Google's own Android TV operating system has not offered native Google Photos app support until now.

The integration of Google Photos on Samsung TVs is set to roll out in phases, beginning in early 2026. The initial feature to be launched will be Memories. According to a Samsung press release, this feature will intelligently present "curated stories based on people, locations, and meaningful moments." Samsung TV owners can expect exclusive access to the Memories feature starting in March, making it a special offering for the brand's users.

Revolutionary AI Editing Features Coming to Samsung TVs

Beyond Memories, Samsung TV users can look forward to the arrival of Nano Banana via the Create with AI feature, scheduled for a later launch in 2026. This innovative feature promises to transform how users interact with their photos on the big screen. It will introduce themed templates, enabling users to apply AI-powered edits to their existing images. Furthermore, the integration will include the convenient Remix tool, bringing powerful editing capabilities directly to your television set.

Enhanced Integration with Vision AI Companion

Samsung is also deepening the integration of Google Photos with its existing technology. The company is incorporating Google Photos capabilities with its Vision AI Companion (VAC), suggesting a more seamless and intelligent experience for users managing and displaying their photo libraries on Samsung devices.
